I take the nostalgia walk every time I come back to my parent's house 
This time I teeter on a cliff 
Hanging over November 
It's a valley 
And I know every ledge and knoll and stream 
In summer the sunset sprawls across its bed 
And knocks over its glass of wine 
And the heather spills and spills and spills 
And now the orange and gold is saved for the leaves 
The tress 
To the ground 
To the puddle 
Then my boot 
Some of them crisper  
My memories

They rush to me at whatever pace the brook chooses 
In hot summers they trickle through my mind and babble to me

Reminding me of the hurt
I walked off over this bridge

I walk the lower path 
That today is laden with November 
And the memories of every feeling I have ever felt whilst on this trail 
I snap the most recent heartbreak under my foot 
And I breathe out his name into the dusk 
He disappears 
And I am glad that I am following in my own footsteps
