Time and memory escapes me
Not sure all the things I've lost and forgotten 
Yet here I am
Returning to the concept of here and now
And what it means to be present 

But know that I'm still breathing 
Engaged and wired in 
Tuning into the daily battles
Endured just for survival 
Coming through on most days 
Failing short on a nickels worth 

Raising my fist
Against the normalcy of this current state 
I know that clarity comes from within 
As it pushes and pulls me 
From one wave to the next

Twitter feed/instagram feed/news feed
They just keep shoving it down
And I'm getting lost in the transmission 
It's information overload
With a propaganda agenda
That makes or breaks me from one moment to the next

Can I turn it off
And return to this concept of you
Continue down that path 
Unsure of the shifting roads that lay ahead 
And embrace whatever divides occur 
Even when that means 
To acknowledge our forfeiture 
And lack of a daily/hourly/momentary closure 

Rise and stand
