I am at sea with the beast
And he is my portion, and I am his feast
I think that he
Has forgotten my name
I sleep in the heart of the ship
Comforting my flesh and my shame

And my bones have been glued together
By thoughtless words, and the changes in weather
This light is cracking my skin
It can't seem to find any other way in

Though this trip is endless, my telescope is longer
And the clouds are far, and the sun is small, but it's getting stronger
When I stood at the bow of the ship after that last storm
For the first time in a year, something inside me felt warm

I am at sea with the beast
