Everybody wants to tell me how to live Everybody got that good advice that they wanna give Ever since I took the training wheels off my trike I got some people telling me how I ought to live my life Don't worry Tchotchke I can See you're stressing out Just be kind to everybody And it will all work out Back in 93 I graduate with degree I had a scholarship to go and study chemistry My mind was ready for the battle But my heart was in Seattle All the coolest bands I knew were coming Through I moved out from the fields To the Space Needle I was blown away by all the buildings and the people Got a job pushing road cases At all the local stages And I got to go backstage and see the shows I kept my act together Working hard till it got better Pretty soon I got to traveling around the states But it wasn't me upon the stage so it was never my dream inevitably Came A-day That it was time to try a new thing Don't worry Tchotchke I can See you're stressing out Just be kind to everybody And it will all work out Learned about ‘lectricity while I was on the road So I think I would try out being an electrician In The world of construction there's a lot of heavy lifting There's a lot of digging there's a lot of joking I’ve always loved hard work rough hands in a dirty shirt It made me feel good when things were done The bossy said don't worry man and In 5 years you're a journeyman Just keep your head down and work son Now I can wire lights I can wire houses right I put em up on polls and I can put em in the ground I can wire for my friends I can wire for my kin And after 10 years I could wire pretty much anything I had enough money saved That I can take a girl on a date Not the homemade kind but the kind where you pay But I was drifting further from my childhood dream Something inside of me was slowly losing steam Don't worry Tchotchke I can See you're stressing out Just be kind to everybody And it will all work out Most of my life I've thought I’m been where I'm supposed to be Even though if the younger me looked at me now I wonder I ended up here I followed the opportunities while also staying true to me I got married one time had 2 boys 1 time Got divorced 1 time but now they're all mine I Met a girl from Utah I like the way we get along Hippie girl knew how to clear a bong She Moved up here by the water With her six-year-old daughter Maybe see if we could get along And now it's 10 years later But it's still like I just met her Cuz The chemistry is right we keep it strong A lot of men might stop there Stay out of the cross hairs Take the easy lane the rest the way But out in the garage i started writing new songs Been 20 years since i did that I'm back to having fun so I just kept it going on There you have it, now you got it, this is where it came from Not a teenage prodigy I'm just a guy who likes to sing about the crazy stuff that I find fun
