I hopped an old freight train. Bound for Omaha Running from the same old pains, escaping from it all With metal all aound me, alone with just my thoughts A voice from the corner, said to me are you lost Then he stepped out of from the darkness, in his hand he held a sack His clothes were worn and dirty and his skin was colored black He said my name is Cappy and before this ride is through You'll understand the story of just what this train can do All aboard, The Salvation Train No more Tribulation. No more hurt or pain We are all just passengers with eternity to gain Once you board The Salvation Train From the sack he pulled a collar, and he placed it round his neck Just as the whistle sounded, his pocket watch he checked He said that's the engineer, I see that now it's time I could feel the engine building speed as we headed down the line Then he asked me just to listen, to the clicks and to the clacks Each one you hear is a sin of yours, as we moved on down the tracks Then he knelt down and neatly placed, his sack upon a crate The clicks were getting faster, as I worried about my fate Cappy put his hands together, I could barely hear him pray The engine started roaring, on his Altar then I laid I cried out to for forgivness, for all that I had done I cried out to The Father, you know I cried out to The Son The noise began to quiet, as a lighty came shining in The train began to slow down, and I could hear no more sin I looked around for Cappy, I checked among the freight I noticed every box, was boldly marked as weight On the floor there laid a collar, and it may have been the wind But I thought I heard him say, each box was filled with Sin I knew my ride was over, and never looking back I jumped from that old freight train, and headed down the tracks Still every now and then, when I hear a whistle blow I wonder if old Cappy, is helping another soul
