I used to count my blessings like water drops
They fell into my cup but I never had enough
The Sun could be blinding but I couldn't see
I had my head in the clouds and my eyes on my feet

I used to look up at that Sky to see what it had for me...

My nights, I'd get down 'cuz my days weren't adding up
The teacher would be right, I just wouldn't agree
I would swear by my conviction, but I'd curse my biology

I used to look up at that Sky like it was testing me...

But the rain, it fills my cup 
And it sweeps the garbage up 
And keeps us floating on
The rain gave birth to trees 
Which gave birth to all these leaves 
That I've been writing
Well, the rain may blur your path
It was never perfect math
You just keep adding on
And, if you can look up at that Sky 
Past all the beauty in your eyes
Just let it rain
