Conscience dispersed  
My thoughts were cursed 
And so the rogue stepped in
Only under the skin at first
But where there is weakness
It seeks this it's easiest 
Cause in weakness the victim is prone to disease
A disease of the thoughts of the mind
When the other starts residing there
And you confide your heart as its lair 
Conforming what you feel and what you think is fair 
As it begins to slowly confiscate it begins to overtake 
Any former understanding of the fight against him
There's a fight against him
But you lock it within
Keep it there imprisoned
But that's where it will begin
To grow and if it persists it will start to claw its way outside  

I'm more than caught in-between
I'm the subject of a conflict that isn't seen
An outcome awaits to decide my soul 
And so the rogue

Two sets of claws tear at my heart
One from the inside, one from the out
The out to get in to take down the one 
From within so as to keep it tame or else its effort carries on
An effort from containment 
A motive of contentment
A beast that never ceases to tear away in pieces  
The walls of which inhibit but didn't quite prohibit 
Intent to seize its freedom from the prison 
And repossess control of me

Don't give it the chance

I'm more than caught in-between
I'm the subject of a conflict that isn't seen

Seen is the physical 
Felt is the critical
Blindness is typical 
Denial is criminal 
We're caught in the visible

They are invisible 

Now there's only one flaw with the other's intentions
In his plan of apprehension is the intent of repossession but
This act of repossessing would affirm the implication that
The first would be releasing a never ceasing hold on me
When all of my life he'd been a presence that surrounded 
But he never let go, not even for a second 
So there's a problem with the reckless rogue's futile arrangement 
You see the first has always had control it was never dependent
On my tendency of failure an endless need for a savior 
Because forgiveness isn't affected by a son's misbehavior 
The fact is that by grace I am bound to be free
And in freedom I will see the other's gruesome defeat
