The giant slammed the door and gave a panicked roar
That blended with the thunder that was cracking
Such was the giant’s fear that he swore to never come near
To the place Oonagh called Ireland
As he sprinted toward his home, he hurled a heavy stone
Into the ocean with a cry of wild frustration
The stone turned into land large enough for man
To inhabit and develop a nation
As the giant hurried past, he failed to look at
Our hero’s small forgotten shoe left on the causeway
If he’d stopped to take it in, he may have begun to think
