I'm a fixture at the quarries
I work from dawn to dusk
Pushing mud, crushing rock
And choking down the dust
I can swear that I was born here
And it's here that I will rust

I'm punching out for home

By the labor of our hand

The chicken is to die for
Raised in our backyard
Fully stuffed and cut across the grain
And my wife will bake a batch of biscuits
That'll tear you off the reins
So tuck it in dear friend at either end
Sit firm and eat your fill
