Last night as I went to bed
I was fast asleep
And as I started to fade
I had the most strange dream

I was flying on a cloud
Passing mountains, valleys and seas
And at this sight so splendid
I had to shed a million tears

Left the Milky Way far behind

Straight into a glowing white light

There I saw buildings high as the sky
There I saw holes deep as hell
There I met a billion different people
But there names, I can't tell

All of a sudden, my cloud did stop
The reason why, I can't surely say
A woman with pale blue eyes came up
Said follow me, I won't lead you astray

As she turned, I saw a tattoo on her back
Her hair was as blonde as wheat
She took me by the hand
And me, I took the lead

I asked her who are you, where are we
She told me everything I wanted to know
She wanted to show me life's worthwhile
And I said, I'll never, ever let you go

She showed me a lake, consisting of Liquid
She showed me a hill, with music played by leaves
She showed me a city, inhabited by monkeys
She showed me garden, with ever-blossoming olive trees

We laid in the red grass, watching the moon
When I saw a shooting star passing by
And I thought that my only wish tonight
Is that this moment will never go by

She told me about all the ones that went before
That were called by God a lifetime too soon
She told me all about the pain
She wished that she never knew

The radio in the back was playing Springsteen
Thunder Road, Reason To Believe and Jersey Girl
She told me that she knew that song
She once heard it at a funeral

She told me she once had learned to fly
Even though she didn't have wings
It didn't feel like anything else
But coming down was the hardest thing

I looked her deep into the eyes
She looked right through my soul
And with every moment I spent with her
She pulled me out of my hole

She got up and told me she had to go
I cried "But I don't wanna be without you!"
She said she was someone else's girl
And that dream just can't come true

She kissed on the cheek, pulled me close
Hugged me and held me tight
She wished she'd known me sooner
But we'll be together in our next life

I woke up, the sheets were soaking wet
I got up, then I got dressed
I went out of the door
And lit up a cigarette
