We don’t look much alike but I know we deal with the same things
Bad luck, mean people and the pain that love brings
I may never know your struggle or the hard times you’ve seen
But we’re all ants in this army, we’re all serving the same queen
So when you point your finger at the guy on TV
Just remember he’s just as clueless as you and me
And when they show the high school shooter and you call him pure evil
Don’t you think maybe he just never learned how to relate to people
Well we all do terrible things but we like to think we’re on the good side
I don’t even think Adolf Hitler thought of himself as a bad guy
We like boil everything down to black and white
But we’re living in color, It’s more than wrong and right
It makes me think of the kid who used to do things to me
When my parents found out they said I needed therapy
I refused to talk to anyone, I kept it together
To this day I don’t blame him, I know he didn’t know any better
I could blame it on his parents for giving him bad mental health
I could blame it on the community, I could blame it on myself
But the more I go blaming, the less I feel like I’m right
Cause we’re living in color, not black and white
We’re all weathered and damaged from the ungodly truth
You can’t tell me with a straight face that nothing’s happened to you
You can’t boil it all down to black and white
Cause we’re living in color, It’s more than wrong and right
You might think that the devil is finally taking us in
You might think you’re absolved from your life of sin
You might think that your high road is gonna make it all fine
But I think that your high road is just as low as mine
There’s no concrete answer, there’s no resolution
There’s no happy ever after, there’s no real solution
Just a world full of people, confused by the light
So they dumb it all down to black and white
But living in color is more than wrong and right
