She'd never say it to my face but, she don't want me downtown

The buses quit runnin', there ain't been a train, through these parts in years
And the cabs won't even stop for me either, they don't want me downtown

Keep the folks like me

They say they wanna keep main st. pretty
Then they start paintin' the buildings grey 
They closed all the stores where I was treated with a smile
