Robert LaSalle

René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle (; November 22, 1643 – March 19, 1687), was a 17th-century French explorer and fur trader in North America. He explored the Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada, and the Mississippi River. He is best known for an early 1682 expedition in which he canoed the lower Mississippi River from the mouth of the Illinois River to the Gulf of Mexico; there, on 9 April 1682, he claimed the Mississippi River basin for France after giving it the name La Louisiane. One source states that "he acquired for France the most fertile half of the North American continent". A later ill-fated expedition to the Gulf coast of Mexico (today the U.S. state of Texas) gave the United States a claim to Texas in the purchase of the Louis… more »

Every time I stand up for myself
I paint the walls a different color in my hell
In between the headaches and nightmares
I ask myself if you ever go there

Can you see me now
I'm inside out
Can you feel me as I hit the ground
Can you hear me screaming oh so loud
I only hope that no one ever has to feel
The way I feel
It ain't real
It ain't real
It ain't real

Misery loves company in jest
I'm wrestling with the heartache in my chest
A change of plans
But I'm not here to stay
I'll tear down every wall in this God-forsaken place

Can you see me now
I'm inside out
Can you feel me as I hit the ground
Can you hear me screaming oh so loud
I only hope that no one ever has to feel
The way I feel
It ain't real
It ain't real
It ain't real

You took my sight
And left me weakened and defenseless
But missed the temple of my head by only inches
Although I'm prone to think that you fully intended
To take my life
You only took my third dimension

It ain't desperation that makes a man like you
It takes a lifetime, in vain, to cut you loose
The only comfort that vengeance lets me keep
To know you know a side of misery that I will never meet

Can you see me now
I'm inside out
Can you feel me as I hit the ground
Can you hear me screaming oh so loud
Well am I even in your memory now
Have you ever even had your doubts
Can you see me now
I'm inside out
Can you hear me
I'm screaming now

Well I'm screaming now!

I can't forget or forgive
There ain't no way to seek revenge
I only hope that no one
Has to feel this way again

What can I do? I'm through
You're still out there on the loose
I have to pick and choose
I won't keep my eye out for you

Pillage the world
Well I'll dish out a million times more
With all the love there is in store
I'll settle up the score

You beat me blind
This ain't no eye for an eye
Turn my cheek
And you can steal everything you can steal
I'm still alive

No it ain't real
It ain't real
You'll never feel the way I feel
No it ain't real
It ain't real
You'll never feel the way I feel
No it ain't real
It ain't real
You'll never feel the way I feel
No it ain't real
It ain't real
It ain't real
It ain't real
