I think it's fair to say you put up with a lot
Yeah
Only happy when it's spittin' on your plot
Yeah
So I thought
Then your rain came and suddenly I cried to put a stop
Yeah
Usually parades soakin' got me hot
But the look that you gave me as you drank down them maybes gave me pause
Yeah
Always wanted more than I had
Like a have not
Truth be told I only wanted want
Not to have
Nah
Suppose it shows how good I've had it that I'm tryin' to pass it off singing like I had not
Sometimes I felt like I didn't sure
At the worst I admit yo I was hands on
Running from mistakes
It couldn't last
Til the day that I finally found a lady that don't hate me at the mall
Yeah
Talked about us
Not each other but ourselves
Oh lord
I hadn't felt so damn alive since way beyond before
And at first we both ignored
Maybe we just stored it for a time maybe we's a little more forward
Now we's kinda older
Drawer full of boulders bangin' 'round and honey I'm just tryin' to get a warm shoulder
Should've listened's what I probably told her
I forget
I wasn't listening when I told her
So now I'm living in that moment
Not against or for it
And going forward I will be a better man
I said it last week
But I'll be damned next week if I don't be the one who gets to say it
You've never said it but I know you think it
I more than think it
And instead of letting that sink in now I 'm brewin' up that hotel Foldgers
Raise a gasp to our health
You never once let us give up on ourselves
And all I gotsta say is 'Told ya.'?

Told ya! (Told ya)
Told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya.'?
I shoulda known that was the last time that I would ever hold ya

Told ya! (Told ya)
Told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya.'?
I wish I knew that was the last time that I would ever hold ya

Please hold it against me
Your troubled mind
Might find my heart is empty
Without your troubles that I always gave you trouble over makin' mine
Meanwhile I'm dumpin' both ends on some bullshit when you be dealin' with that all-encompassing whole shit
And do you think for just a second I could holster all my crude and unimmediate old shit?
I keep drawin' even when the deck screamin' in the bold face
'Fold, Chris'
Once in my life I won't just half-listen
Piss in the first pit the conversation hits
Tell you how you feel
Ass kissin'
Full listen
Ask first
And if I must shoot later forgive the ass kissing
What can I say?
I need your drama like an actor
Say let's have another fight so I can write about it after
Haven't had my favourite argument in quite some time
What if we've gotten too scared?
Afraid to push the next button
Press something that gon cross the line we swore we'd never bow our heads to?
The line that hides an honest feeling til you're warm in bed
Beneath the trenches of the evening
Laying in the arms of a stranger that was once your best friend
Lie awake and hope each other's tears don't wake the other
We still don't talk about that
Who really needs the bother?
Yo
We more like shot for shot
Until we shootin' like we see clearly
F*ck it out
Hope the morning we forget but you know we ain't nearly
But that's ok
We only play happy anyway
We more like keepin' sad away
For just another day

I said I 'Told ya'?
Told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya'?
I shoulda known that was the last time that I would ever hold ya

Told ya! (Told ya)
Told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya'?
I wish I knew that was the last time that I would ever hold ya

I said I 'Told ya'?
Said I told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya'?
I wish I knew that was the last time that I would ever hold ya

Told ya! (Told ya)
Told ya! (Told ya)
All I gotsta say is 'Told ya'?
I shoulda known that was the last time that I would ever hold ya
I wish you'd just once say 'Told ya'
