Kafka Tamura

Kafka on the Shore (海辺のカフカ, Umibe no Kafuka) is a 2002 novel by Japanese author Haruki Murakami. Its 2005 English translation was among "The 10 Best Books of 2005" from The New York Times and received the World Fantasy Award for 2006. The book tells the stories of the young Kafka Tamura, a bookish 15-year-old boy who runs away from his Oedipal curse, and Satoru Nakata, an old, disabled man with the uncanny ability to talk to cats. The book incorporates themes of music as a communicative conduit, metaphysics, dreams, fate, the subconscious. I go to bed at night
Shut my eyes
Think of light
I've said a thousand times
Don't wake me if my eyes are wide
I've drowned before you know
The day we moved into this home
I've said a thousand nos
Don't wake me
Though you crave brighter
light
Tell the world you have a knife
And you cry in your sleep and then
You've cried in your sleep again
Though you hold on so tight
Tell the world you wouldn't lie
When you
Speak through your teeth and then you've
Spoken through your teeth again
Break
me, don't let go
My my, if only so
Don't let my lady go
I only begin
Take me if I show That I
Can only grow
Don't let
my heart beat slow
I only begin
I've raised my voice again
You're sighing
and my teeth are in
I've said a thousand times
Don't listen
when I speak
I've drowned before you know
My blood is just a melted snow
I've said a thousand times
Don't listen when I speak
I'll break you down
Never needed you around
Never holding me up
never needed your love
I feel it now
