Checkmate

Checkmate (often shortened to mate) is a game position in chess and other chess-like games in which a player's king is in check (threatened with capture) and there is no way to remove the threat. Checkmating the opponent wins the game. In chess, the king is never captured—the game ends as soon as the king is checkmated. In formal games, most players resign an inevitably lost game before being checkmated. It is usually considered bad etiquette to continue playing in a completely hopeless position. If a player is not in check but has no legal move, then it is stalemate, and the game immediately ends in a draw. A checkmating move is recorded in algebraic notation using the hash symbol "#", for example: 34.Qg7#. more »

Hey there dad, how are you now; hope your doing fine
Guess you know I'm not cooking anymore, yeah I had to draw the line
Working in this factory now; working hard all night
But I'm still not happy dad, something just aint right
Well I'm still playing this guitar, and I'm working on the drums
Now I'm trying to write some songs, and for you I'll write this one
I'm really quite sure, how it's gonna go
But you know I got to keep on tryin dad, you know I got to know, you know I got to know
I got to do it my way, can't get no help from anyone else
I got to do it my way, I go to do it on my own

Hey there dad, how are you now, my brothers are they fine?
I'm living in the mountains, Colorado now, and Aspen town is high!
Now I've got my dog Rocky, and I'm cooking at the Ute
And you know I'm feeling better dad, things are going good
Well I'm still playing this guitar, and I got a harmonica now too
And you know I'm working on these songs, and yeah this one's for you
I'm not really quite sure, how my life's gonna go
But you know I gotta keep on tryin dad, you know I got to know, you know I got to know
I got to do it my way, can't get no help from anyone else
I got to do it my way, I got to do it on my own

Hey there dad, how are you now; Yeah, I'm doin fine
Figuring it out, getting a grip, playing this music all of the time
Yeah, you always told me dad, that I could do whatever I wanted
Making music for our Lord is all I've ever wanted, and that's all I ever will
Well I'm still playing this guitar, Singing with my wife Sarah some too
And our children Elizabeth and Anthony, and now this song is through
We really don't know dad, how our lives are going to go
But you know it's getting better all the time, cause now you know we know, now you know I know
I couldn't do it my way, had to ask for help from our Savior Jesus Christ
I couldn't do it my way, I couldn't do it on my own dad
Only by the grace of God

Thank You Lord Jesus Christ!
