Olin Johnson

Olin DeWitt Talmadge Johnston (November 9, 1896 – April 18, 1965) was an American politician from the US state of South Carolina. He served as the 98th governor of South Carolina, from 1935 to 1939 and again from 1943 to 1945. He represented the state in the United States Senate from 1945 until his death from pneumonia in Columbia, South Carolina in 1965. He has become infamously remembered for denying clemency to George Stinney, a 14 year-old African American boy who was wrongfully sentenced to death in 1944 after a trial that lasted for one single day, a conviction overturned 70 years later. more »

Eyes closed, still see you
Hands raised, still feel you
Mouth closed, our secrets
Mouth closed, can't keep it

Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore

(Anymore, I pray babe) Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
(Anymore, I pray babe) I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore

I know it's late, but can I see you
Heard some things, hope they're not true
I'm not the only one, you've heard some things too
"It's too late", I found a new you

Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore
Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore

(Anymore, I pray babe)
Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore
Hey, what did I do this for
Both of my hands hitting the bedroom floor
I've got nothing to say to you anymore
Nothing to say to you anymore
