Yeah I hate what we've become I have excuses so let me talk and hold on to your questions You elected me to lead to make decisions on your behalf And that's exactly what I'm doing so let me work on my actions Our plan create jobs a booming economy and a better infrastructure But let's face it some truths are bitter in flavor I vowed to drop the dollar rate and let the code ascend But the common citizens don't see how these systems blend I'm the chosen leader chose to chart the course and to defend But here's a truth most citizens have no clue how this system works So let me break it down for you shall we? First off instead of hiding every citizen needs to pay their taxes From market vendors to sports bettors remote workers and influencers Your taxes fuels the flights the hospitals the police military and the schools And yes your taxes are funding my next private jet too How do you expect us to build bridges schools and hospitals? Pay for my trips to international conferences or even my children's hefty fees abroad? It's all from the same pot your hard earned your brought Now as long as we're getting work done It's okay to skim a little off the top Trust me the smoke won't let it burn But hey It's all in the name of national progress Before I took office I made the right connections Took some loans and yes I promised some government contracts visas and kickbacks in return So I need to pay it back like sins I carry from my past Did you know my salary as a leader is too small to fit my wife's gown? I make deals secure the gold oil and promised to never let you down Sold some and saved some in Swiss banks for the days I'm not the crown This isn't new folks My predecessor My rival He pocketed far more than I ever could That's the harsh truth Left us lot of debt I'm just playing the books they left So when I do it remember it's not stealing I'm your leader after all You'd probably do the same in my shoes It's one size fit all Now let's talk about jobs Jobs might be lagging And for the jobs I created you don't even show up on time You take longer breaks and take longer vacations Plus you always complaining from where I sit I think you are lazy cuz my angles in perfect view It's simple math really just open your mind to something new So fix yourself first and I will fix the country too This is my election year My term was not enough time to patch up the roads Or start building something tangible Again if you vote for me I promise to finish what I've visioned this won't be debatable Take this 20 cedis Remember my face I'm number two on the ballot Press your thumb on my face this winning feeling sweet And when I'm re-elected I'll fulfill every promise no deceit Praise be the Lord for the time for the chance to renew Thank you for your trust your thumb And what we are about to pursue And thank you for voting for me again as your leader Wish me the best I'm guiding us through And don't be confused again When I treat you as a fool (I do because This is an opportunity for the African To demonstrate to the world) (I am just ordinary hungry screaming Ghanaian Who wants to realize his creative potential Who wants to contribute) I hate what we've become you have no excuses left sir Just my heart is Dennis for my troubles Every time I voted for you hoping for something new But you showed me nothing in the same directions You promised jobs and booming economy Yet even kenkey has risen from one to five cedis Back when the cedis could stretch I feast on two kenkey's fishes and two eggs all for ten cedis Now life's tough eating once a day Timing meals to fend off the hunger at night Hunger become companion And on days when pockets are empty I chill the gari soakings no milk to make it right Just to suppress the hunger feeling You spoke of ending dumsor but the blackouts haven't stopped Leaving us in the dark at night My cousin's stew spoiled last night ECG promises never electrifies still missing the spark in every light Our water system issues even with barrels I tap my neighbor for a week Promised improvements if I voted for you The promises fragile now seem so weak Am I a fool for believing? You handed me twenty cedis I thought there'd be more Disappointed show its face I'm a voice to be heard I won't be giving you my vote for sure I'm ready to protest stand against the evils you keep bringing on Though deep down I fear from my efforts Nothing significant will be drawn You think I'm a coward citizen But I'm trying not for you to trigger my peace Life is hard here I dream of getting visa escape this country And not to return or to be seen We blessed with natural resources but y'all flip it for y'all own gain What's the difference between you and a greedy man's frame? I see you all the same You are not in them streets so you don't be feeling the pain After Uni no jobs we're left to bet our futures or dive into deeper scams You tax our small hopes You don't even create jobs But your arms are extended locking us when it jams I heard you say we're lazy maybe it's because of you Before we even begin to take our first step you tell us we are not right Because in your mind you think a white man is better than you You taught us values but don't teach us worth And you pass this trauma through our DNA if we test Also maybe if you pay us hourly We probably show up to work on time Skip breaks and long vacation Cuz you know how we love to flex when we earning more Can't you see when we travel we bring a lot home Because of the grind but you keep taking all If things don't turn around We might resort to desperate means risking it all My girl left to hook up chased by the chaos you caused Following the money's call And on top of that chairman use our taxes to pull up on girls At this point I recognized angels and devils party together You as leaders snatch our hopes and still expect us to be cool Next election I'll take your twenty plus his fifty But no more playing the fool Whether I vote or not the outcome's the same don't forget If this country spills over it's on all of us but not you Your games we see through The system rigged but I won't let it silence me not yet No matter who we vote for the problems remain It's the same old wahala nothing new So this time around I won't vote for another you I got love for Ghana (Forward then To independence now Tomorrow the United States of Africa)
