Billy Bock

Billy Bock (April 30, 1935 – July 8, 2003) was an American college and high school baseball coach, who led his high school teams to a nine state championships across four decades while never having a losing season. Billy Bock of Pine Bluff died of cancer Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He attended Holy Redeemer Elementary School and graduated from Subiaco Academy. He received his bachelor's degree from College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, and a master's degree in education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. more »

Her daddy runs the feed store, but he's sick and getting old
Wants me to take the reins from him, before the winter cold
We've set a date to tie the knot, can't wait til end of year
She'll be my best damn Christmas gift and brand new new year's cheer

I'm one lucky S O B, but why nobody knows
I always seem to step in shit, but come out like a rose
I hope Rose knows that she's the greatest thing, that's come to me
If not for good luck I'd have none, I'm just one lucky S O B

After the preacher married us, she took me out to see
What she carved at sixteen, in her backyard red oak tree
A big heart with our names that says, one day she'll marry me
And now you know why I'm this small towns, lucky S O B
