I wake up tangled in the duvet
The air is crisp, I can see my breath
I pour to the kitchen for my first cup of coffee
This is what I wanted, I guess

I watch as the steam twists and turns through the air
Too hot to take the first sip
Then think about you and how'd you'd like all this silence
Then miss you and let it burn my lips

I make my way to the porch, wrapped head to toe
In that blanket I brought for the picnic
But left out the basket, filled with fancy meats and cheeses
It's probably all bad now, isn't it..

And that sort of thing would normally bother me
A waste of good food and the money
But I have to confess I don't care about it now
Can't care 'bout anything honey

I'm sorry I did it right before our vacation
