Jersey on my back, feeling like I'm chosen
Walking through the valley, my path, it ain't frozen
Like Psalm 26, I'm asking for the test
My heart is open wide, putting faith above the rest

My steps never waver, on solid ground I stand
Got it by force, much greater than I planned
The mirror of the word, my reflection's looking back
Ain't looking for the world to feel what I lack

Gather round the altar, res loves ablaze
My story ain't just mine, it's to lift us higher
Hands lifted in the air, like I caught the Holy Ghost
In the spiritual realm, I feel his presence close

I've walked through slander, untouched by his flame
My integrity intact, I've got his name to claim
Examine me, oh Lord, it's my daily decree
My heart beats to the rhythm of his holy decree

I tread on solid ground, his promise is my map
Evil's the law, I dodge, escape this deadly trap
This congregation's where I stand, feeling bold
