So harsh with the self-talk
Doesn't help lots
It'd be hard for me to tell if I held off
Cause the shame been ingrained in the grooves of my brain

But I fall into the same damn traps
Tripping on the same damn tasks
Should be hopping out of bed
But I'm hopping on my phone
Confidence and drive know it's dropping like a stone
Scrolling through the feed know it's feeding my fears
Always feeling so behind when I look at my peers yeah
Need a routine, but I'm reckless
Feeling restless, over breakfast
Yeah the day just started but I'm done
Sulk until the setting of the sun

I've come so far I see
Still no harmony
The bar so hard to reach

I want a catalogue worth a couple companies
Want my kids and my crew living comfortably
I want packed out shows
Plan on giving back tryna pass round dough
Put the present on pause while I plot

It's no shock that my days feel shot from the start
Giving all I got still I'm off of the mark
I've come far making marginal gains
But when the going gets hard know it's hard to attain

Yeah, think I made a mess of the metrics
Cause I invested
Many minutes but they tend to be diminished
I won't take it as a win till my songs got spins
Wishing I was proud of the place that I'm at
And the hours that I gave to my craft
