Seasons change and the people come and go
Time heals scars as we live and learn and grow
But lately I've been contemplating the words I once lived by

Now I guess it's my turn to be jaded
With thinking love is overrated
Left direction up to fate and you caught me by surprise

Nerves react and emotions hit the floor
Thinking thoughts that I've never had before
And now I'm asking myself questions we're both afraid of the answers for

And so far
We've hit a winning streak of moments that I can say are starting to cast away
All that I thought I had known
Routinely been walking alone
Maybe we should both let it ride take it slow
And so it goes

And we've both been through so much already
Years gone by leave minds unsteady
But strength that we find through each other can bury things we once believed

Tell me things you don't share with anyone
Take my time 'cause we've only just begun
Understanding who we are inside each others' lives

And so far
We've hit a winning streak of moments that I can say are starting to cast away
All that I thought I had known
Routinely been walking alone
Maybe we should both let it ride take it slow
And so it goes

And we just fell into each other downtown in the early summer
Cut me from the team
I love the words that you sing with all your heart out on the street
Got my whole body screaming why aren't you here with me?
