I'm standing here,
With my eyes both open wide.
And with a brief understanding,
Of how the world goes around.
We know what we like,
And what we like is who we are.
Some are young and naïve,
And others are blind, and don't care about those who try.
Many strive to succeed,
And others strive to fail.
Some will give up,
And many will give in.

We all have visions,
of our own perfect world.
To those who will listen,
And who will choose to believe,
I'd like to share mine with you.
It isn't hard to believe,
I know you can hear me,
So why not indulge,
And hear what I have to say?

I believe, in a world of broad horizons.
Where the equal line, is set in stone,
And one is as strong as the other.
Where opposite souls can be at peace,
In solitude and with respect.
With no worry from those,
Who would forbid them to exist.

It's getting late.
Do I stay or do I rest?
Do I block out the thoughts that flow in my mind,
Or do I let them swim in my head?
'Is there a purpose to love?
What does it actually mean?'
Are the questions I ask, when I see this world stand before me,
On its crippling knees.

Does friendship still matter?
Does the 'law of love' even allow,
For two human beings of different organs,
To bond without a hint of romance?

But to place a ring 'round your finger
And say that you are 'mine',
You know I just couldn't do that to you.

I'm standing here,

And we chose it well.
But never forget,
That the friend you've just made,
Will be worth more than gold.
