When the night is at its longest
And the cold sets in
It's hard to remember
The days when the sun felt warm
You can hardly picture my face
Without despair in my eyes
It's hard to remember
That we shall see the light again
In the dark for so long
It feels like the shadows only grow
I cannot find solace
in the ones I love
I don't get why I feel so lost
Like a collapsing distant star

As I'm slowly imploding

I fight each day to witness the truth
From here the days will get brighter and brighter

Even through the coldest days
Even through the darkest of all nights
I'm reminded by the rising sun
To see the world through new eyes
I will not give in to dismay
This is my Solstice

Waning cold and distant
The moons light shines down
Reflections of my spirit
Diminishing as the phases change
Once full and bright
Now a sliver of my former self
Reflections of my spirit
I no longer recognize

You once again take my hand
And lead me through this vicious cycle
