I'm just a pumpkin
Sitting in this pumpkin patch
The sky is black and the clouds are purple and blue
What do I do when the harvesters arrive?
I know that they'll hurt me and cut me alive

This Halloween things will change
I'll grow legs and walk away even if that's strange
I am a survivor, not a decoration
From this ol pumpkin patch I could really use a vacation

So legs protruded from my roots
I put on some big black boots
I left the pumpkin patch today
And now I am on my way

Everyone thought it was a costume when I showed up to the dance
I saw a lady dressed like me dancing and I took my chance
I spun her and I kissed her and I felt true love
That was until an angel cursed me from above

I fell and made a thump to the ground
Everyone looked over when they heard the sound
It became apparent that I wasn't a man
And their prejudice grew as they stepped towards me with a gun in hand
The lady grabbed me by my root and helped me run away
That's when she told me her story and I was dumbfounded in dismay

Cuz legs protruded from her roots

She left the pumpkin patch yesterday
And today met me and helped me run away

We're two living pumpkins who grew legs and arms
And everyone's afraid of us and wants to do us harm
But that's cuz they're afraid of change and refuse to accept another way

And this story sucks but it's kinda funny
Someday my carcass will be eaten by a bunny
But love is sacred and beats all
Because someone loves you and will always be there to help when you fall
