This college town in summertime is a drag to hang around
A hundred miles to the coast, riding in a half car half truck
Breaker Breaker this is tailgate Smitty, we're gonna test our luck

We hit the beach that same day tossing disk and dodging waves
Checking out the hotties there, and picking out our faves
Out of the blue Zeb heard his name called out on the wind
And who appeared but Norman, an old delinquent friend

Zeb and me on a road trip and Stan had tagged along

A little cash, a lawn chair, a cooler full of beer
No where to stay tonight but nowhere's better than here

He thumbed a ride from Memphis - a no frills vacation trip
And hung with two chicks he met, till they gave him the slip
No credit card or cash his only currency was weed
We tried to shake him off but didn't execute with speed

Well Stan pegged Norman for exactly what he was
A bonafide parasite, a genuine scofflaw
Now to keep him in his place, Stan may have tempted fate
By opening up his duffle bag and letting Norm see his thirty eight

The more absurd the story got as the evening did progress
We ended up in a rank motel, much to our distress
And in the morning woke to find Norman had cut and run
And learned that with a reprobate, you never show your gun
