I woke up this morning I knew it was new year's day
With a chill down my back from sleeping by a cold window pane
I wiped off the frost with an empty pillow case
And what I saw next the look on my face

I saw something that was unbelievable
It was out of this world and I felt it in my soul
So spectacular you'll never know
It could never be captured on a video or phone

The sun went out over the city
And I tried to blink but I couldn't
And stars shot across the milky
Way out of this world new year's day

All these thoughts going all through my mind
Like inside my head all my stars had aligned
A cosmic dream no way this is real
I can't believe these sights and these things that I feel

I grab my hat my wool coat and my gloves
Tie my pair of boots and the scarf with the fuzz
Can't make the bed brush my teeth or my hair
No time for tea I just run down the stairs
