January's here, don't like how it feels
Snow by the door, wet shoes on the floor
The slick of the ground, shininess of brown
The white of the snow makes every flaw glow
They say winter's all that, no I don't think so
It's not what's pictured oh God please let me go

Someday I'll move
Where the water's not white no instead it's blue
No leafless trees
Instead palms that sway all day in the breeze
I'll live where it's bright, full of color and life
and escape life here which is nothing but dullness and cold
Nothing but dullness and cold

February's here, thought that it would feel better
Summer's one step closer somehow feels ten times further
Anytime that I'm outside the wind always blows
I beg for it to stop as the numbness grows
But when winter comes I feel the air on my skin
I pray to God that it'd just go back to wherever it's been

It's a slump that I don't always see as a slump
Until I open my eyes to the lack of the sun
It's all in my head, what I think about winter
The pains almost worse when the green comes with splendor

When I've run out of tears, full of shame and despair
I see the Father's arms open with peace to share
He embraces me, and the ice melts away
He tells me through him everything'll be okay
He says, "If you think I'd forsake you I'd never
The sorrow you feel will not go on forever"
