Ba'Alawi

The Ba'Alawi tariqa (Arabic: طريقة آل باعلوي), also known as the Tariqa Alawiyya is a Sufi order centered in Hadhramawt, Yemen, but now spread across the Indian Ocean rim along with the Hadhrami diaspora. The order is closely tied to the Ba'Alawi sadah family. It was founded by al-Faqih Muqaddam As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Ali Ba'Alawi al-Husaini, who died in the year 653 AH (1232 CE). He received his ijazah from Abu Madyan in Morocco via two of his students. Abu Madyan was a student of Shadhiliya tariqa chain of spiritual transmitters from Muhammad. The members of this Sufi way are mainly sayyids whose ancestors hail from the valley of Hadramaut, in the southern part of Yemen, although it is not limited to them. In the Name of Alläh, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Verily, We have given you a clear manifest victory
That Allãh may forgive you your sins of the past and the future and complete His Favour on you and guide you on the Straight Path
So that Allãh might bestow on you His Mighty Help
And he was honourable in the sight of Alläh
Held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and he will be one of those who are granted nearness to Allah
I have turned my face with single-minded devotion, towards Him Who has created the Heavens and the earth
In the Name of Allãh, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful {help from Allah (against your enemies) and an imminent victory; and give glad tidings (O Prophet) to the believers
O you who believe, be Allãh's Helpers as Jesus, son of Mary, said to the desciples: "Who will be my helpers in the cause of Allah?
They said: "We are Allãh's helpers

Allah There is no deity but Him; the Ever-Living, the Self Subsisting, the Eternal One
Neither slumber nor sleep can overtake Him
To Him belongs whatsoever is in the Heavens and whatsoever is on the earth
Who is there that can intercede in His Presence, except by His permission?
He knows what will happen to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter; nor shall they comprehend anything at all of His Knowledge except as He Wills
His Throne extends over the Heavens and the earth, and guarding and preserving it, does not exhaust Him, for He is the Exalted, the All-Mighty

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Had We sent down this Qur'än on a mountain, you would have certainly seen it humbling itself and splitting asunder for its fear of Allah
We relate these parables to men so that they may reflect
He is Alläh: there is no other god but Him
The All-Knower of the Unseen and the seen
He is the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
He is Alläh, there is no other god, but Him; the King, the Most Pure, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Giver of Security, the Protector, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supremely Great; Glory be to Allah
High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him
He is Allāh, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner
To Him belongs the Most Beautiful Names
Everything in the Heavens and the earth glorify Him
And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise

I seek refuge for myself with Allah, the Most High, from whatever hears with two ears, beholds with two eyes, walks with two legs, touches with two hands, speaks with two lips
I fortify myself with Allah, the Great Creator, from evils that I fear or I am wary of, from humans and jinn that may appear (to harm me)
Honoured is the one who is closest to Him
Exalted is His praise; sacred are His Names, and there is no god save Him

O Allah! I (restrain) my enemies by placing You against their necks, and I seek refuge in You from their evils, their ploys, their cunningness, and their deceit
Extinguish the fire of whomsoever intends animosity towards me from among the jinn and humans

O the Preserver, O the Protector, O the Self-Sufficient, O the All-Embracing!
Glory be to You, my Lord!
How sublime is Your rank, and how great is Your honour

I fortify myself with Allah, and with the Names of Allah, and with the verses of Alläh, and with the Angels of Allah, and with the Prophets of Allah, and with the Messengers of Allah, and with the righteous among the servants of Allah
I fortify myself with:
there is no god but Alläh, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Alläh; and may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him and his family

O Allah! Guard me with Your Eye that never sleeps, and protect me in Your perfect protection, and have mercy upon me with Your power over me, so that I may not perish while You are my reliance and my hope

O the Saviour of those who seek help
O the Saviour of those who seek help
O the Saviour of those who seek help

O the Saviour of those that are going to be destroyed
O the Saviour of those that are going to be destroyed
O the Saviour of those that are going to be destroyed

Suffice me against every nocturnal visitor that approaches me during the day or night except that visitor that approaches me with goodness
Indeed, You are capable of all things

In the Name of Allah, I safeguard myself through incantation from whatever causes harm, and from every envious person; so Allah is my cure
In the Name of Allāh, I safeguard myself
O Alläh! The Lord of mankind, remove and cure all illnesses; for You are the One that cures; and restore health, for You are the One who restores health; there is no cure, but Your cure; a cure that leaves behind no trace of illness and no pain

O the Self-Sufficient, O the Fulfiller, O the Praised One, O the Glorious, remove from me extreme exhaustion; suffice me against all injurious instruments, severe illnesses and the impending threat (from armies)
Grant me a light from Your light, honour from Your honour, victory from Your victory, magnificence from Your magnificence, a gift from Your gifts, a guard from Your guards, and a support from Your support

O Lord of sublimity and honour, and magnificent gifts, I beseech You to suffice me against the evil of those who cause evil
Verily, You are Allāh, the Creator, the Great

And may the blessings, abundant good, and blessed peace of Alläh be upon our master Muhammad, and upon his family and his companions
And praise be to Alläh, Lord of the Worlds

And praise be to Alläh, Lord of the Worlds, openly and secretly, and at all times; O the Most Merciful of those who show mercy
