I was writing in my journal
When my gray gel pen ran out
And then it really hit me
Wh en I knew why I felt off
Sure it told a thousand stories
And chronicled my life so
But I got it with an old crush
And that love is no more

Cause last time on this story
I was glad she was in my life
But she never had feelings for me
So now I have a doubting mind
I'm now 0 for 3 on attempts
To see what love about
While I'm hopeful for the future
I'm filled by my own doubts

Why is it so hard for me to say this
Am I scared of uncertainty
Can I trust these feelings
Can you answer me

Will I ever find the one for me
Or is that just a fantasy
In my own dreams
But I hope that before
This new pen runs out
I can meet you on my route
And learn what love's about

But now there's someone new
After too much time being alone
Her eyes are so beautiful
And I've got to know her as we've grown
I remember these feelings started
Walking back from separate halls
My heart was warm and I smiled
But I could recall

The losses and shortcomings
Of failures in my past
But a part of me cried out and wished
Would this be the one that lasts
But I don't see her as much
As the times in Freshman year
So now I'm here alone
Really wishing she was here

Will I ever find the one for me
