2023's my year, I put that on a pedestal
Went out of my way to show my talent is impeccable
Every open mic and every artist I connected with
Stepping out my crib to show the world that I'm adventurous
At the same time, I'm in my 20s & I'm still learning
While I'm balancing a part time job, I spit verses
When I stand behind the counter, and complain I'm still working
But I stay disciplined to grind until I live perfect
Wake up in the morning, clock in at my first job
That I worked for 6 years, taught me how to work hard,
How to say no, balance out my payroll, though I stay broke
Never have I clocked out just to stay home
Living with my parents, saving money that I get to make
Limited on hours I can work, I'm under Section 8
The less time I spent at work, the more time for my passion
But I still had to save up, leave the nest, and climb mountains

Most of my mornings, I would wake up with a routine
Work my 9-5, go home, and write on loose leaf
Perform at open mics every week to pursue dreams
Moved out on my own, left my job without a two weeks
Two new jobs and I'm working as a newbie
Reminding myself on a daily who I am truly
Get the notebook paper smoking like I went & blew trees
Keep the paper stashing 'til the posture is too weak
Headphones on, bumping to my unreleased
Tell the world don't let the hate own you like you're on a leash
Never will I be forgetting where I'm from, honestly
Mental health in better place, my first job is off of me
2023's the year I'm putting as a prophecy
Manifesting all my dreams, look at where it's gotten me
Looking at the sky to reach, angels looking up to me
Even through society, still nobody stopping me
