I would say that the ego is useful
Make us functional
But we've got to transcend the ego
And that's when we're with the Self
The Self is a conductor
Conducting all our different parts
Or subpersonalities
Or complexes
The ego is a useful facade
But we must understand it
We must understand our suffering
Lest we be delusional
Then our parts will take over
And we will be stuck in a cycle of suffering
Which is a nightmare
What is the point of this life?
Is it all a game?
With levels and hierarchies
A spiritual hierarchy
To be
One with the source of the universe
Or the multiverse
Call it God
Or emptiness
Or no thingness
