Surge in thoughts just overloaded my circuit breaker
My mind gravitates to worst case scenario
Try to drown the voices out by cranking up the stereo
The way my brain is wired doesn't allow me to relax
Unless I'm doing three tasks at the same time to distract
From the overwhelming thoughts that plague me so frequently
Still talking to myself, maybe I need a change of scenery

Living in my head, I should start charging myself rent
Why ask for assistance when I reject the help sent
I suppose it's pride, maybe my ego's too fragile
Try to tell myself I'll change then continue to do battle
Don't think I'm capable of a change of that magnitude
Maybe my outlook is jaded by my bad attitude
Clutching sanity, holding it, trying not to lose it
