Our world is crazy
Well, obviously
Throughout history
Things have been wacky
But there are eras that seem much stranger
Than what came before, and we're in danger
Though there are terrors and bizarre events
And there will be more without our consent
We can't afford to be weighted down, hopelessly
We don't get any choice into what world we're born
I know that you're tired, that the world's on fire
That you think that your voice is so old and too worn
But the alternative is to die, so live
Through these awful years, save up your tears
Control is not ours, count out your dollars
They won't save you if all this is true

Through the chaos, we must forge on
Through the darkness, we must stay strong
Patience is our only ally
Thought it is hard, we must still try
We cannot win every battle
But that doesn't mean we're chattel
Though I doubt that we have free will
We can fight or we can be still

I know clowns lead us
Who may not heed us
And poorly treat us
But they still need us
We probably won't win
So bubble, meet pin
Though it seems a sin
For our future kin
As just one person, how can I invest
In any outcome, I will do my best
Any man, woman, or nonbinary
Can do so little, at least consciously
But if we time traveled, and the world unraveled
It might be a small thing, a thing done by just one
But in here, in the now, we cannot say just how
Future events will bring us to the conclusion
But what else can we do? We must see it through

Though I know the truth might hurt you
We can never win this great war
And I think that we are done for
Though I doubt that we will survive
At least for now, we're still alive
