Scavenging and Piecing
The puzzle to make something
Come and just make a switch
Live in poverty
Working eight to five
Be able grow past to what I'll miss
50 to 50
Good and bad
Times we never had great stuff in the fridge
Digging through cabinets
Just find scraps in the home dug inside a ditch

Cause in life
You won't find
Equality and equity
Since lately
The world isn't on stability
Vaguely remembered what we had to keep us going
Keep growing
Not homeless
Almost came to once but glad we just kept passing

Stuck in the middle
Where I'm at isn't exactly what you call accidental
I worked hard where I'm at in the middle
Something that you leave or tend to fiddle
We had what worked and cooked on the griddle
Figure stuff out as a damn stupid riddle
Checked around the house just find some dimes or if we could, even find a lucky nickel

Once I never wanted to make change
Or even never wanted to ever just pick a different lane
Came close to being called another type of name
Walker was it, doesn't fit for the kind of person that had soon came
A lot of me just isn't the same

The friends that I made
That I call family
Don't care much for the amount of money
I have financially
More so focused on what I got going for me

My own family didn't start being born rich
Took time for income, but we make up for what we missed
Divorce came, hit us hard, some money gone to some broke man bitch
Mother in debt, going strong, but free in short time, use it for her own shit

Moving
To new lands
Just to make a different stand
New way of life
Just in time
Lost so much pride to stay alive
But new surroundings made me strike
Against my thoughts, make them align
With new purpose to stay in the fight
Now I am in new delight
Where I have become so kind

Making moves to make sure I don't fall behind
Didn't mind people paying for me but still I didn't like
Now I live on my own where I make up my own mind
Many thanks to the ones who helped me keep in sight
Of my own goals that I want to reach in time
You only live once, make every moment combine
Into one, remember for life

I learned more from my heart
Opened up to hard parts
Don't even know where to start
It's fine, now in my car
Sharing thoughts that were so dark
But those thoughts are no more
I threw them out the door

I'm happier than what I was
Make a living with what I have done
I know it's been a rough one
Even so, I'm passed with what I was
It's true, I was a dark one
I'm bright as the gold sun
Problems won't outrun
Face them head on
