There was a boy who had a dream
A dozen brothers binding sheaves
Were quick to say with jealousy
Do you see yourself a king?
And when the sun and stars bowed down
He went to tell his father proud
The last of twelve, it cannot be
He said, what's this all have to do with me?
Out in the fields, the brothers roam
The youngest comes to see them home
And from afar, so said the schemer
Look ahead, here comes the dreamer!
They through him down into the earth
The eldest brother saw his worth
No, we must not take his life
And so they sold him into the hands of

A foreign lord in a foreign land
And though he made his master proud
He stood his ground, and it all came down
And by the guilt of one false claim
Was cast in chains and locked away
And from the cell he gained his name
The pharaoh dreamt of cows and grain
And when the sages failed to see
The dreamer told him destiny
For two rounds of seven years
The first of joy, the last of fear
So choose a wise, discerning leader
The pharaoh said, what should I do
If by your word, these claims are true?
If God has made this known to you
What better man to see us through?
So you'll take charge of all my land
My ring, my robes, my right hand man
With all of mine at your command
You'll save us by the dreamer's plan
And when the famine settled in
His brothers came and bowed to him
Although they did not recognize him
He said, If you are honest men
Return to me with Benjamin
The father took the news with grief
He put them through the final test
But could not make it through the rest
Have everyone withdraw from me!
He cried out to his family
It's I, the one you sold away
Come closer now, don't be afraid
Cause it all happened for a reason
To save us from this famine season
I love you all, go on your way
And tell my father I'm okay
The father's spirit came to life
I'll see my son before I die!
The pharaoh heard the pleasant news
My nation's best belong to you
So Jacob traveled, full of love
And praised the Father up above
