I have an idea of what's best for everyone
It comes from feelings like a mother for newborn
A helpless child and a parent who cares
Mom desire for the good to happen everywhere
Her sacrifice to give her all to make it all better

Maybe I'm wrong
But isn't that what most people want
Stability and a safe community
Access to clean water food fun
People not stealing or hurting
With no reason to do harm
Isn't that the goal of a stable mind

Maybe I'm right
That don't mean I have answers
Cause I think I know don't mean I'm smart enough to do it
I think it takes
Lots of people working toward the common goal of freedom
I'm not sure people can do it
Not sure it's possible

And my desire is strong it's all consuming like a purpose
Everything's wrong and I'm desperate for a fixing
Society's biased all sides prejudiced favor one more than others
And all the many factions just think about themselves

And my idea of what's best for everyone
Is desire of love, to see the best purpose come
For everyone
It's what I want and I'm the furthest from it
It's what I want and we're furthest from it
No way we'll ever, ever do it

So I look for something greater
Above our weaker vessels
And my desire turns outward
To what I can't see
Cause this life is slipping
It's out of my control
And I'll blink out before I know it
It'll still be going on

So I count on love
The desire for the good to happen
And I believe it's a power
Beyond the physical
Knowing more than we do
Able to fix our hearts
I believe God is love out of desperation
Out of dependence
That there may be a better world
