Every day waking up
From that dream again where I was stuck
With my arms in my shirt
And I can't seem to ever get them out
Or an elbow pressed into my back
By some shadowy figure I tried to attack
While everything's moving
In slow motion
It starts to build until it feels like it will overflow
My lips are pressed up to the ceiling trying to take in air
The sharks are swimming at the bottom of the living room
They're not there, and I'm not here
As I circle my head about five hundred times
'Til the end of the day's burrowed into my mind
And I'm swinging and flailing at what I don't know
Now the whole thing's become one big absurdist joke
So I laugh for no reason and fixate my eyes
On the mundane, the profane
And dream up disguises
To hide me from tomorrow
I've entered a scene with no plot
Through a series of backdoors
I must've forgot where I put that one thing
Or maybe I'm late for work
And it starts to build until it sounds just like a lightning clap
Applause and cut and then we break to commercial
My feet are frozen, must've left the A/C on again
The camera pans up to a bird's eye view
As I circle my head about five hundred times
'Til the end of the day's burrowed into my mind
And I'm swinging and flailing at what I don't know
