Back in January I was feeling the pressure
From Miss Big Expectations sought appealing to match her
Had backup from all sides, thought I'd give it a try
'Til I ended up KO'd, overcame by the tide
I cried. I trained so hard to meet her standards, but when it came to approaching every blow I'd land hurts
I realised so-called weak spots were unreachable
This fight I've fabricated, found it never was feasible at all
Though I still stood tall, questioning my opponent
Am I to fight such a beast without my input on it?
An amalgamation of ideas, twisted to be appealing
Rooting from my own peers, my owne hubris concealing
I had enough of it, why should I make tough of it?
Say I'm not a people pleaser, sure have made a bluff of it
Happiness is not a responsibility, it's a given
Life without prioritising me ain't worth living

A friend of mine had a diamond mind
His wise way with words made him one of a kind
The type to think of all the consequences in decisions
Teaching man how to fish became his life mission
Until, one day he would lose his way
Searching for perfection, he'd forget what to say
Inadequacy was a drive that made him lose rest
An addict of self-loathing in a search for the best
Eventually, he couldn't see his own reflection.
Saw a compass spinning, to no direction
I stayed close, gave him ways to feel alive
Reasons to resurface when his mind took a dive
But then, he found that spark again
Spreading hope, giving a hand to lend
Reignited a zeal to amend his wellbeing
Learned to care how he feels, open his eyes to seeing
There's a light at the end of every tunnel
After night, there's a time when the sun will come
To comfort your anxieties and say
You'll be okay
