Weston “Wes” Mitchell (December 8, 1890 – July 1962) was the head basketball coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers for one lone season in 1944-45. Mitchell replaced Carl Nordly as coach after Nordly had steered the Gophers to a 17-23 record over two seasons after replacing long-time coach Dave MacMillan. Now I am so lost and I can't even see the end this time
Because I had a chance with a girl like you and I'll never have that again
I'll never have you again
In all my years here I've never met a girl with your smile
You could make any guy here walk a mile for you
You had all the guys lined up in a single file
But somehow you chose me and I was junk in the pile
I know I lost the moon that was surrounded by stars
And now nothing shines my world like your heart
I always knew that my chance with you was far
But now I feel too dark because we're apart
I finally saw the good to this life. Now I question and sin
My feet were walking on water and now I feel so condemned
Now I am so lost and I can't even see the end this time
Because I had a chance with a girl like you and I'll never have that again
I'll never have you again
It does not matter how many texts I'll send
Or where I messed up. It won't matter when
And no matter how many times I pray to make amends
I will never have the chance to have your heart ever again
And I know I lost the moon that was surrounded by stars
And now I'm drowning in this darkness
Because our love is far apart
I swear I finally saw the good to this life. Now I question and sin.
Now I crashed in sin
My feet were walking on water and now I feel so condemned
Now I am so lost and I can't even see the end this time
Because I had a chance with a girl like you and I'll never have that again
I'll never have you again
