There was a time
Not so long ago
I was drifting along
On city buses and trolleys
Erykah badu and jamiroquai
In my ears
Big buds from mother nature
Expanding my lungs
Poetic metaphors up rocking and
Dolphin diving from my tongue
Head spinning on ear drums
Each pause a pose a freeze
Executed at the right moment
In time with the perfect beat
Floating through the county
Drifting city to city
Embracing every
Opportunity to speak
Sharing the gift
Spread love and uplift
Doing all that I verbally can
To help complacent minds Expand
On this tattered road
This path I chose
Words from the gut

War and peace
Daily those lost get
Harder to reach
The youth harder to teach
Corruption grows in the
