How do I get away

Will anyone read these words
Would anyone understand
Did I write to feel better
Or for you to read

What I write can be so private
Do I really want others to read
Maybe it's different in the context of music
It gives me something to hide behind
These things I say
Are just for you
These words are my voice
I hope one day you hear them

Going through this
I look back from within

It's so simple
But I overthink
What's in, needs out
How do I get away

Trying to write - there are no words
These feelings have only descriptions
And even then you'll only know
By your own interpretations
But I'm compelled to sit and write
As a last way, to reach out to you

Read my words and hear my voice
I could talk to you forever
And I would still need more time
Even my silence, a gift to you
