Man before we even start by no means
Am I saying to stay with someone who
Is beating you upside the head
But we got to understand what true love really is
Better yet just hold it

People think love is a temporary emotion
Falling in and out like the waves of an ocean
One day we say we love each other the next we don't
Is this true love or manipulation potion
I only love you when you do the things I like

About how love is patient don't let it get to my head
I only want you to be patient with me
Show me kindness, with no arrogance you see
Endure all things that I put you through
But this chapter don't apply to me boo
Cuz momma already taught me not to put up with no mess
So listen again so you can understand this

But why don't these verses apply to you child
Cuz I didn't ask for this nor wanted to bear it
I just wanted the ring and all that comes with it
But didn't Christ bear all your stuff
Isn't marriage between him and the body something you should trust
Listen that chapter isn't just random
But ways we can see how Christ loves through our tantrums
Marriage isn't just a piece of paper
Signed, sealed, and delivered and vanish like a vapor
One plus one plus one equals one
What ties it together is true biblical love
Patient, kindness, rejoicing in truth
Never proud or boastful, let's tell this to our youth
Doesn't envy, dishonor, or think about self
Keeps no record of wrong, like food on a shelf

Cuz working out a muscle takes time and discipline
Work out that love muscle cuz your one of his fishermen
At the end they can only truly say
That we know them by their fruit and by their love
