Jazz at the Philharmonic – Yoyogi National Stadium, Tokyo 1983: Return to Happiness is a live album that was released in 1983. The album includes Louie Bellson, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Grey, J. J. Johnson, Joe Pass, Niels Pedersen, Oscar Peterson, Zoot Sims, and Clark Terry. Shin Watanabe, a music publisher in Japan, wanted to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the first visit by Jazz at the Philharmonic to Japan in 1953. He contacted record producer Norman Granz to organize a concert. Since the first concert in 1953, several of the musicians had died, such as Gene Krupa, Ben Webster, and Willie Smith. Fitzgerald performed with her band of Keter Betts, Bobby Durham, and Paul Smith. Their performance occupies disc two of the two-disc CD.
