D POLICY BIO 2020 D. Policy is a highly-talented and entertaining solo vocalist with a unique, original style that encompasses AfroBeat, Dance Hall, Reggae, and AfroSoul. Born in Nigeria and currently based in Malaysia, he’s a natural singer who has always felt music growing inside of him. His latest release is the EP Afro Map, an eight-song effort that represents D. Policy at the top of his game. He shows the influence of many diverse performers including Davido, Tekno, Bob Marley, Coldplay, and Enrique Iglesias but stands tall in his own creative space and never imitates. “It all started inside me,” he says when asked about his musical journey. He was a backup singer in his church who never thought he’d become a professional vocalist. He did visual work first, as he is a gifted painter and artist, but eventually followed his life-long love of music into the industry. Now, as a fully-developed recording artist in his own right, D. Policy is motivated by seeing his fans enjoying his songs and communicating his messages to them.
