Ayo Olajide

Ayo Olajide is a talented singer, composer, and songwriter who has been actively involved in music ministry in Canada. Born in Nigeria, Ayo moved to Canada in 2003 and in 2010, Ayo responded to a calling from God to “gather His people to praise Him…” and went on to establish “Worship His Majesty” — a non-denominational praise and worship music ministry based in Calgary, Alberta. Since its formation, Worship His Majesty has hosted multiple Christian music events featuring local and international artistes. A distinct and innovative artiste, Ayo’s music is a variation of dance-oriented and slow gospel music compositions which are expressed as contemporary gospel, afro beats, and highlife genres. His musical strengths lie in weaving elaborate tunes and instrumentations into the contemporary gospel and worship songs. He has a keen ear for harmonic sounds, and his creative process is often sparked by the different beats that come to him during times of meditation or worship, which he then develops into songs. Ayo’s musical focus is praise and worship. The lyrics of his songs are usually testimonies of his encounters with God. “I use my songs to share stories of God’s goodness in a way that brings blessings to everyone who listens,” he says. Indeed, this is evident in his debut album, (Worship His Majesty), which features songs like “Wonder God” which is a melodious celebration of God’s love and faithfulness. Other tracks on the album (e.g. Making A Way, Kare, As We Gather) are devotional musical expressions delivered by powerful vocals. In almost 10 years of music ministry, Ayo has written and composed several songs that have touched the lives of many Christian believers. Like some of the major influences in his music career — William McDowell, Uche Agu — he is comfortable ministering in a variety of vocal settings Beyond music, Ayo is an entrepreneur, teacher of the word, and a gifted Inspirational speaker. He also serves as an ordained minister at House of David — a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Calgary, Alberta Canada. He is happily married to Damola, and they are blessed with two children. Whether he is singing in his local church choir or ministering on a stage before thousands, Ayo propagates a simple, forthright message: The love of Christ, and that we should all serve the Lord with the talents He has given us.
