I thirst, O Beloved, for Your apparition, fulfil, o Beloved, the hope of my consciousness. I thirst in hope of You, so why have You no care for me? But its squirming and twitching are of no avail, the fisherman shows it no mercy..3 False love, one may say, is like the bee's. The apparition of the Beloved is not attained in this way. False love, one may say, is like the bee's, who flits from one bud after another sipping its nectar. Such are those without good deeds, the heedless and blind, who do not sacrifice their lives to the Beloved.. ..4 True love, one may say, is like the moth's, for thus is the apparition of the Beloved attained. True love, one may say, is like the moth's, who deliriously sacrifices its body. For the sake of a single lamp, so many moths sacrifice their lives! ..5 Let all be scarified to my Beloved, for everything that is dear should be offered to Him. Get rid of this delay and prevarication, and decide to say something at least. Be merciful, O Shyam, and preserve me, and pay attention to these words of mine! ..6 Those who desire the vision should wish not to pay attention to anything other than the Master. Those who would have the vision attach their heart to Him, increasing their love day by day. Through invoking His name in one-consciousness, they achieve the apparition of the Beloved..7 Do not behave thus to this orphan handmaiden. If I have faults, turn them into virtues. I am Your humble slave. Why do You not show any concern for me? If I have faults, turn them into virtues, O Shyam! Pay attention to these words of mine..8 It is by becoming nothing that one is called a handmaiden. Thus one pleases the Master. It is by becoming nothing that one is called a handmaiden, Rising regularly to increase her love (for You). Through invoking His name in one-consciousness, this is how she destroys her bodily attachments..9 Stay with the Master in complete concentration; through (His) love experience such delights. Stay with the Lord in one-consciousness, Loving Him intensely. Only one who would sacrifices their head of love attains the apparition of the Beloved! ..10 I have seen nothing that matches this Love! Do whatever pleases the Master. Those who die in devotion to love, live their existence well.
