Well, it started as boy
Listening to the radio
Where I'd sit and sing along
To all those songs I thought I'd know
But I never thought that that all change
With a hand me down guitar
But when I'd play those strings I'd feel a fire
Way on down inside my heart
So I learned a few songs by the greatest sounds
That country's ever known
Ole Hank and Randy, Johnny Cash, and a whole lot a George Jones
And it sounded good, but it wasn't me
So I decided to write my own
And somebody must've like what I sang
Cause Nashville became my home
And now I spend all my nights on some hard wood floors
Where strangers all I see
Just to lie awake for hours
Wonderin' if it's worth the pain
But to do what you love
You've got to love what you do
That's why I'll spend my whole life
Writing songs and paying dues
Just to wake up in the morning
To that neon glow
It's just another day here on Music Row
Now my songs pay my bills
And my only friend is that same old guitar
Can't say I aint lonely but that's ok
Cause some whiskey will numb my heart
And I'll join the line of all the other thousands
Of people just like me
Who play songs for money and sell their souls
To Nashville, Tennessee
And now we'll spend all our nights on some hard wood floors
Where strangers all we'll see
Just to lie awake for hours
Wonderin' if it's worth the pain
But to do what you love
You've got to love what you do
That's why we'll spend our whole life
Writing songs and paying dues
Just to wake up in the morning
To that neon glow
It's just another day on Music Row
Now I aint saying
That I aint happy
Cause I am write where I am meant to be
And if what I'm saying sounds like you
There's a spot right next to me
Where we'll spend all our nights on some hard wood floors
Where strangers all we'll see
Just to lie awake for hours
Wonderin' if it's worth the pain
But to do what you love
You've got to love what you do
That's why we'll spend our whole life
Writing songs and paying dues
Just to wake up in the morning
To that neon glow
It's just another day on Music Row
And I'll be doing this till they lay me low
Its just another day here on Music Row
Ohh, another day here on Music Row
