If you gaze into the abyss The abyss gazes back As I gasp for air I catch whiffs of its pungency Looking over my shoulder cessation is here with me Mundane expressions surround me Worn out by strain and tensity Good morning day, greetings oh sky of grey With each breath, I waste away My eyes ache from unshed tears I tremble in fear I curse every tomorrow That was promised to me If there is a heaven up above I know I'll never reach it If hell exists All this time I've lived in it It always seemed so strange to me Each time I close my eyes My favourite visions Are those of my demise The void calls out to me How did this come to be Time and hope in the palm of my hand Watched it all slip through my fingers like sand I've always been led to believe Damnation ensues beneath our feet What difference does it make To exist with a soul bound by ache Any remains of hope, now severed and abandoned Rip my tongue out of my mouth I don't wish to speak anymore They ridicule this philosophy They mythicise my cerebral war My eyes ache from unshed tears I tremble in fear Seek truth and you shall find Or drown in a sea of lies I have been damned to this A life of anguish Death is the only release If there is a heaven up above I know I'll never reach it If hell exists All this time I've lived in it If the devil walks among us He manifests in the voices If there is a god He'll have to beg for my forgiveness Release me Release me Release me Release me
